How can I fix the “Invalid Account” error in MetaTrader?

The “Invalid Account” message on a trading application indicates to one of two possible things done wrong in the logging process:

  1. Incorrect, or incorrectly typed in, account number
  2. Incorrect, or incorrectly typed in, MT4/5 application password (not the Client Office password)

If you have correctly typed in your account number and properly selected a trading server, please try by setting a custom MT4 application password first, and then re-doing the logging process by using the newly set password.
