What is a Lot in trading?

A lot is a standard size of a transaction. It is measured in base currency units.

The common lot sizes are:

  • Standard: 100,000
  • Mini: 10,000
  • Micro: 1,000

Example: 1 standard lot of EURUSD = 100,000 euro; 1 micro lot of EURUSD = 1000 euro.
